thule fitting help?

I bought a second had roof bar thule kit for my clio, but it didn't come with any info on how to fit it? I now it goes under the doors but not sure how it tightnes or how fare apart to put it? and I don't want it to mark the car any tips???? or pictures? thanks Andy

According to my instructions you mesure from the windscreen seal 280MM to the front bar and from the middle of the front barr measure 700MM to the middle of the rear bar. I just adjust each side untill tight. I have had no problems.
