thumb grips

  wrx sti ppp (305bhp)
the thumb grips on my steering wheel are sh*ite one side had half ripped off and the other is starting to come apart, i think it might be the sun or just a dodgy car!!!! went to renault, dunstable and they were having none of it!!! they said because one side has come apart they cannot replace the wheel?????

he even said if it was just like the other side which is starting to come off he could replace it? doesnt make sense to me???

They can replace it tell them there talking laxy rubish I've had one under warently and another soon.

I got the same problem with mine, one side jus looked utter sh*te!
Its left a large hole which jus keeps getting worse. Im thinking of replacing the wheel now because of it!

i did not think you could replace them and they came as one on the wheel that is why i need a new one...if i am wrong this would be cheaper surely cheers

After reading that i think i'll be getting a flat blade screwdriver under my left grip, and lifting that one too, then taking some sandpaper to the rubber to degrade it, and then some solvent degreaser to perish the rubber. Cause i'm not walking out of that place without a new steering wheel fitted.

Runts!

curious, I had my right grip go during a drive to France last year and never thought of trying to get it sorted under warranty. I rang the local dealer who wouldnt say for sure without looking but generally said they would be covered which is nice as I was looking at getting a basic wheel from ebay so that I could get mine repaired but now ill see. Am currently thinking of as many petty things to ask them when i take it in to see how far i can get :)
2 yr old 172 which baffles are currently rattling @ ~ 40000rpm and got an annoying tempremantal starting issue
