Ticking/Blowing noise whilst driving ( only when in gear )

Basically, since its been hot, & I've had the window down, I've noticed a sort of blowing/ticking noise now and then, and only when the car is in gear. I'm not too sure what it is, and obviously with it only happening when its driving, its difficult to find out exactly what it is, anyone else had this? .. or any idea what it could be? ..

I think I may have the same problem. If you put your windows up and turn everything off you can just hear it sound like a blowing exhaust although the noise seem to come from around the gear stick area. Hope it's not the manifold flexi pipe as the cat - mid joint is not blowing.

Most likely to be Cat to centre as the join there is pretty bad.

yea? just had a new exhaust put on, reckon thats just blowing? If thats all it is i'll get work to look, but if its anything serious i'd rather take it to a specialist. suppose if somethings broken down there its a excuse for a sports cat

I think so, and no it doesn't make a noise at all when its out of gear.

Mine sounds similar to this and it's definitely got an exhaust leak, get under neither it and check for a poor seal or hole.

i am having issues like this on a 1.2 8v clio 2001 its must be the heat and its always when its in gear for me as well buddy its funny to explain like you said but are first i fort it was like a squeaking sound but it was driving me bad to make it make the sound again lol

I think I know now, mine was more amplified, When I put my new scorpion on it resonated horribly under load, but then i didn't put any paste on the join ( in gear it flexes doesn't it so makes it open up ) I pasted it up good and proper and went away, no i can cane it and sound good at the same time. may just check the joint they might not have sealed it.
