Time Warp Astra GTE

I had an F plate pre cat 16v gte in plum met back in 1990-91 just as fast as most proper h/hatches of today.

I've never uderstood why folk keep cars in storage etc that aren't the best one. If it was a proper GTE then fair enough.

I've seen stored nova's - like merit's or something, stuff that we wanna see stored GTE's

I've seen a stored escort 1.6 ghia - in mean ffs, at least store a series 1 rst.

totally agree

i echo other comments. totally doggers. interesting to look at though for a few seconds. 10k. no.

If it had been the ltd 16V Champion Model with the full leather I may have got excited - but that nah.

My old man used to have a glacier white Astra GTE. Legend. He got owned by a 1.9 205 GTI on the motorway though, which was his next car :approve:

lol in tread depth maybe - must have some interesting handling characteristics - not that they ever handled anyway !

If I ever got an astra GTE it would have to be ...

Had a MK1 GTE Replica 1.3 for my 1st car in red... very similar to this one whitout the white wheels and obvious GTE power

I loved that car :(

£10k?!?! It's the worst GTE model by far, in that you'll get wet and the handling is even worse. Mind you, assuming it's on the original tyres, I'd love to take it out - just to see how bad it is hehe :D

Put some wide, sticky, modern rubber on it, and it'd probably snap in half on the first hard turn :)

Seriously though, in this market at the moment, think they'll even see £4k? It always seems to me 'classic' Vauxhalls have never commanded huge prices, at least I can't think of any examples that aren't daft like these. I know they have a history of producing stuff you'd rather forget... But had that Astra been a Mk1 R5 Gordini Turbo , or maybe a S1 RST or things along those lines - it wouldn't have be that silly a price... In fact, you could probably sell the S1 RST for more.
