Hi all im after some technical knowledge on the f4r 738 engine. I checked the timing at the weekend as when i purchased the car last year the timing belt had been done before by a local garage, i was a little suspicious that it had been done correctly due to hearing a few things regarding so called garage and on top of that they had just mot'd the vehicle and it had a cv boot gone and the manifold to cat bolts had rotted out and was blowing before the cat. I have been meaning to check timing for ages just never got around to doing it.
On checking timing i found that the inlet cam was ever so slightly out of alignment, i would say its about half a tooth out on the pulley side if that makes sense this could be due to belt stretching mind so i want to firstly know is this going to be an issue and if so as the belt is only a year old and has been changed can i adjust the dephaser bolt by simply undoing and re-torque in the correct position or would it be better to replace the belt and bolts again with new and align everything correctly as per f4r 730 manual.
Im not sure if the dephaser bolt is a stretch bolt hence my question and query so if any technical people who know these cars knows this it would be greatly appreciated.
