Fitted the refurbished steering wheel today, quick wash & vac. Fit the new door badges on Monday then she’s perfect. [emoji7]

It didn't sell at 10k then? Does look lovely, the non genuine mats let it down a little bit though.

Just mats at the end of the day to protect the footwell. She will be Re listed. I’m in no rush to sell, worth every penny.

But for a car that has everything else OEM, it seems silly not putting them in. Especially at 10k.

You can’t really put a car for sale that’s twice as expensive as the next example and expect it not to raise a few eye brows.

Show me another on 18k Miles? These are getting harder to find in such good condition, let alone the mileage. I can ask what I like. I sold my last two cups on 77k for 5k. People said they wouldn’t sell, they did.

And believe it or not, this car owes me quite a lump taking into account storage costs, insurance, tax, servicing. So no I’m not trying to make a quick buck, I love these cars but having already got 5 cars in storage costing £80 a month each, let alone the insurance on them, I have to sell the cup as it’s the sensible thing to do.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to comment, it’s not a thread about it being for sale, I was just genuinely happy with the steering wheel refurbish & how good she looks.

I see both sides of it, low mileage examples are sought after but then sometimes it’s better to buy something with higher milage which has been serviced belts ect than sat in a garage or somewhere where other complications can occur. A good clean example can be just as well presented with the right history and higher miles

If I had won the lottery tho and wanted one as part of a collection I would deffo be looking for something like this

People feel the need to comment because you’ve become famous for advertising the most expensive Clio 172 cup in the world.

It’s a big talking point and this is a discussion forum. You might not like that but unfortunately that’s the case.

I don’t think anyone on here has accused you of trying to make a quick buck have they?

Anyway, nice steering wheel.

Surely if it's costing a lot of money in storage you're better off listing it for a realistic price, getting it sold and stop paying the storage costs? The way I see it, it's a ridiculous price, and it's only going to owe you more as time goes on and the storage costs mount up.

I have been into cars since my early teens and seen many people mod there cars and spend thousands on big power upgrades, bodykits and other things along with keeping them taxed and insured but when they have come to sell never made any money on the money they put into the car.

Im sorry to say this and people might not like it but just because you are spending money on storage, tax, insurance, polish, steering wheels and other small things along with your time it does not always warrant you getting that back in money when its time to sell.

Yes the car is very very clean and has low miles , if a dirty, melted steering wheel along with no matts and stained seats car comes along with really low miles does that mean its a £10k car ?

You are always going to have both positive and negative comments and feedback but I think its more to do with the fact that one min its for sale, the next its not.
If you are serious about selling it I would personally take some good in-depth detailed pictures that are very good quality and a decent advert to attract the right people / collectors.

If it sells then well done and fair play to you

The cup didn't come with mats anyway so I don't know why people are moaning that they don't like them. Would they rather the floor wear out instead?

I also agree the cup feels better to drive than all the other 172/182 variants. It's lighter and more raw feeling.

A collector would pay £10k for this example I'm sure. If you compare it to Renault 5 GT Turbo or Peugeot 205 GTi, it looks good value even.

Usually the cups for sale are hammered examples and have "track car" or "road legal race car" in the title.

Having looked at these two examples, I think Dawn is right on the money

If it's only got 18k on, with FSH and belts done, it's only going to appreciate. As has been said, look at all the old hatches we just to own, ran into the ground, which are now worth 5 figures.

you are in the minority..............

it might be worth that to someone in years to come, or indeed be the going rate for a nice one just like 5 turbos etc, but at this moment in time its "optimistic" shall we say.

The first link you posted could be a £8k car if they added up the costs of servicing, storage, insurance, belts being done and hours of cleaning.

The second could be a £10k as its a dealer who has more or less bought it for about £2500 and hiked the price up.

My original point is that no matter if you spend £12 at a motor factors or £130 at a dealership you dont see that money back, If you need to maintain a car then you need to maintain it regardless and I fail to see how that makes the car more expensive or adds more valve on it.

Does this mean that cause I service my car every 6 months and do all my belts every 3 years I can just lump that onto my for sale price ?

These cups are just going like the Trophy's did and from what I see now no one is really managing to sell Trophy's for the £15/19k they where at.

Excluding buying my Trophy I have roughly spent £14k + in the last 8 years buying parts and maintaining it and replacing things with 95% of genuine renault parts with a renault specialist, Does this mean I could ask for all that back if I was to sell mine.

Like I say if it sells then fair play but the bubble will burst with cars like this along with the Trophy's and for it to sell it needs a very very good written advert with good details pictures and aimed at the correct market and buyer.

No, I meant as in if the car has full service history as it should be, not just mileage dependent, then it adds to the price as a well looked after car
