tinny rattle, burning oil

I have a 52 plate 1.2 16v, 68k miles

I noticed last night that when revved above 4k ish it produces quite a lot of white oily smelling smoke. i was also told by a mate following me that it smelled like this for quite a while!

It also has a slight tinny rattle after letting off the throttle above 4.5k ish..

Anyone got any ideas what the problem is?

Sorry if this has already been covered, wasnt really sure what to search for haha

If its burnign oil, then a piston ring is probably gone. As fo the rattle, that could just be a bit of heat sheilding...

Yeah i was slightly worried that was going to be the only answer :/ Just to add I put a bit more oil in it yesterday as it was a bit low, but ive checked the dipstick and airbox (i believe this fills up if overfilled?) and all looks okay..
