Tips on buying a 172 from a dealer

Hi,

I have just got back from travelling and need to get a car. I should also be coming into some money in the near future and so have decided to buy a Mk2 172 in either silver or flame red from a dealer on my credit card and do a 0% balance transfer. Has anyone got any tips on what to look or and how to beat the dealer down on price a bit as I know Ill be paying a bit over the odds????

Many thanks, Mike.

I wouldnt recomend that idea personally.
If you want to save money just buy a cheaper Mk1 172.
Nothing much to obvious to watch out for beyong crash damage most 172 issues will be covered under warently if you buy from a dealer anyway.

One thing to note of is the dealer is unlikely to offer you the best deal if purchasing solely on a credit card, they may not even accept a credit card as payment.

A dealer will get charged a percentage by the CC company when taking payment from you for a car.

Youre best off paying in full by a temporarily arranged overdraft for say 7 days, then transfer the balance to a 0% credit card. Thats exactly what I did! ;)

Am tryimg to sort the money 172gal, yours is nice!! I didnt mean a Renault dealer, there are some forecourts with mk2 172 for sale around 8500 grand, low miles and say they are credit card friendly, was just an idea, was just wondering on tips to haggle the salesman!!

There shouldnt be a big problem with credit cards I shouldnt think - I paid for my V6 on Switch. Or is there more surcharge on credit cards?
