To fit or not to fit - front springs with slight wear/splitting?

Hi guys,

I'm no expert so was hoping if someone could tell me if it would be OK to fit a set of front springs despite there being what appears to be some wear/splitting of their protective casing (hopefully this photo's shows what I'm on about)...

as long as the metal is not cracked there fine

Its only the paint peeling.

that is simply where they have been in contact with the lower spring cup. Absoutely fine
