Tom's Jungle Green Yeti, new car protection, CQUK!

So Tom bought a Yeti. In Jungle Green! What a fantastic colour in the flesh, a ridiculous amount of pop! I’ve always like Yetis for some reason so I was happy to be doing a new car protection on this one.

Tom come and picked me up and off we went to the unit. The car was a little bit dirty but nothing major so a quick clean…

So first up was the wheels, attacked those with AF Imperial…

Next up was the arc hes, bloody lovely space to work with! Using AF Verso and a few different wheel whoolies…

Lovely and easy, so then I went on to pre wash. Snow foam is always a treat so that went on with a bit of prewash mixed into the bottle….

Rinsed off then wash 2BM with CarPro mitt and AF Lather…

Then on to Decon, Iron X first…

A fair bit of ‘rail dust’ on it, that’s for sure!

Followed up with TarX as there was a few little patches that needed attention…

I decided not to clay, the paint work still felt silly smooth so thought it was for the best.

So dried and indoors for a bit more of an inspection. The paintwork was flawless, went over it with Haalogen, fluorescent and LED light to check for marks etc. Tom’s request of it not to be touched by the dealers clearly paid off!

However the black finishes on the door pillars were wrecked!

God knows how they became that damaged! So to try a combination that worked, JD grabbed the DA and I grabbed the Rotary. Eventually we found a technique and combo that worked with the Rotary. Menz 4000 and Hex black.

Then onto the protection, I chose CQUK…

Full eraser wipe down then a panel at a time, lovely product to use, fairly easy and time bloody flew whilst applying it. Starting from the top down and just really taking my time it took a fair few hours..

It visibly added pop and depth to the paint, Tom was getting increasingly excited the more I did (giggidy)

This was left to start to cure then it had a wipe down with Reload, I bloody love this stuff and it worked superbly with CQUK, as it should…

The plastics were coated with Dlux, another lovely product to use!

I passengered in it to the unit then drove to the picture location. I must say I really really liked it. 1.2tsi 7speed DSG. 100 times better than the manual imo

I really did struggle to get it corrected too. b*****d things, I would say some 3m film may be wise to put over them.

Funny we were talking about the Bigfoot. I'm a big fan of Larry @ Ammo's videos and he loves it.

i'm yet to try a Big foot but I really want a Festool tbh. We shall see, trying to trim down the amount i'm investing in detailing atm haha.

It is an awesome product, I hardly used any either considering the surface area of the car. Worked on smallish areas at a time to guarantee coverage which is probably why it took me so long. It rained today so I hope Tom was out there in time to get it sorted.
