does anybody know if these will work(get a strong signal) in a mk 2 172
these are the new ones with SiRF Star III GPS and 4" touch screen thanks much appreciated

Yeah no prob's, is it the windscreen your worried about? There is a gap in the reflective stuff at the bottom centre of windscreen

I get 9 satalites in my 182, only needs 6 to to work properly.

If you do get a poor signal you can get an external aerial for them, About £20.

As this is the new version (510 and not 500) the chipset can cope with the screen from what I've heard.

Oh crap i just got me the 500, don't suppose thats a hands free kit is it, oh well i hope i can take it back and swap it for the 510

got it yesterday works a treat with no extra ariel and the hands free bluetooth is excellent would highly recommend one of these to anyone(510 710 910)
