Tonbridge Meet Pics:

Trying to work out where abouts in T.Wells that is!

It'll be the stupid rear wing. Didn't give enough downforce did it.

Others involved or ran out of talent?

No others involved from CS, other road users, maybe?

I turned off and he shot past me in another direction, kinda glad we had to go home different ways now....

I'm going to guess it was straight up ran out of talent, tbh if he was in my ph1, he wouldn't have had a problem ;)

Yeah it did, very nice ones at that, I was having a sit in it with Magic Ad admiring it in general just minutes before this, full spec on this one, absoloutely every option, shame to see it gone.

And for the record, lack of talent is a a assumption from what I saw, but I suppose it could be anything, I'm sure Meg will clear it up soone enough.

Well yeah, obviously. But they tend to sell it on to a scrapper. Someone will get their hands on it and break it I'd imagine at some point down the line. Would be a shame not to.

Let's not jump to conclusions. I'm still not sure thats a write off tbh.

Also the guy isn't here to answer back, so it's perhaps a little unfair. Maybe something broke on the car, we've no idea.

As said, I was judging by what I saw, I don't know T.Wells very well, but that looks similar to where I left him so it could have been very shortly after he went shooting off.

Meg already said write off, so I guess Rob must have had some kind of indication from someone?

I wasn't aware Megan was a insurance assessor, he could've text her that in the heat of the moment. Seeing as it's an almost new car they won't be writing it of straight away - unless there is more damage than the pictures suggest.

Great pics and nice turn out.. Absolute shame about the 200, regardless of fault, it's a shame, it looked nice.. Is it really a write off mind? I suppose the offside could be totally wrecked as its not visible. Wonder how the wing mirror got done too? Nearside looks fine except the wheel looking rather shagged..

If the car is less than a year old then it will be replaced with another car no charge.

Is he on here at all?

No gap insurance doesn't matter Jon, the terms of most policy's are if the car is written off in the first year of ownership they will replace the car up to the value of yours minus your excess.

Or you can just take the settlement if you have gap insurance and start again.

Ah ok. Learn something everyday.
My mum always says everyday is a school day. She's not the brightest tbh.

I'd like to know what happened but like most of the time we'll never know.

That's part of my policy with Ford. I can cut the car in half using a lamp post and they replace with new or offer full purchase value back to me. All within the first 12 months of course. Didn't realise it was standard practise.

Then again, cut a car in half with a lampost and there's usually some genius on CS who could repair it for a ton, using parts off ebay and a rattle can from Halfords.

BTW I think it's fairly likely that the geezer just binned it being a hero. Sad times either way.

Hence why gap insurance is a MASSIVE con along with supagard/ixtar/other b****cks

(Unless you are a car salesman, then you are quids in)

Yep, and what they dont tell you is the packs for the cars cost between £20-£50 depending on what you want. They pay some young'un £30 to splash it on, and make a fair amount at the end!

Really wanted to go to this meet, but good ol' GSF decided to not stock the parts they told me they do stock.

Looks like it's gone side on into a lamppost or tree. Might explain why it's practically in the bushes in the other picture. Also there's tyre marks in the grass in the other pics. Could've easily lost it, thought he'd go into a field to save the car slightly then met a tree.

I thought you may.

;)

I know Rob doesnt come on here much, but hope he's alright.

We still can't prove it was his fault though can we.

Echo those sentiments though, I hope you're OK, must've been a right bang.

Tit's Magee told me last night that he wasn't hurt.

Must have been going some speed to take out a pole.
