Gave it a proper push once warm, renault were kind enough to let me take out one of they're two new arrivals.
It'd be a bit unfair for me to comment on handling as the salesman said, due to mine being on coilovers.... but as for everything else. Where shall i begin.
Inside, is huge. Seats, altho not leather, were actually VERY comfy, and hug you so much better than the current 182 and trophy recaros!
Interior looks **i say looks** alot better put together, but after 20mins, i had a buzzign at low revs, and sqeak through brakes. but looks better anyway.
LOVE and i say LOVE the steering wheel. No renault sport logo, but its great. where your thumbs go into the wheel it looks great.
As for the Go.... errr... well. i was immensly dissapointed. Felt so much like a warm hatch. No grunt at all. it was quick... but didnt have the raw punch of acceleration. Was far more refined and power was made steady through the range. Now this engine had 300 miles on it. So is still very tight, but it was so... how can i say... calm.
I took the guy out in mine afterwards, and he s**t himself, saying s**t.. theyve really dulled it down since this one havent they. im sure its no slower, apart from top end... which i still dont get, but they've calmed it down, and its kinda boring. Felt very floaty on windy roads, and bends, but as i say im used to a car being on the floor.
So bearing in mind i didnt like the look of the car, i really wanted to like the drive. and i didnt.
We wanted another comparison afterwards, so took out and 05 plate meggy 225 with 15k on the clock, thats was CHEAPER than the clio, and we all agreed that when the turbo kicked in... it shifted happily. To a point where if i buy another renault... itll be a meggy cup or F1.
sorry about quality of pics, only had my phone.
