Tool used to remove wheel nuts

  Jap Box
Tried looking on ebay etc but cant for the life of me find the name for the tool used to remove wheel nuts.

The one Renault give in the spare wheel set is pretty naff so want a proper massive one as before now ive had to nip down to the garage and ask to borrow theirs as my one is too puny to undo the bolts :rasp:

Thanks

Tesco do a wheel bar and 2way socket 17mm one way,19mm the other. The bar can extend for extra leverage only about £6 I think perfect.

Thanks for this, ill take a look on Tuesday :) just wish the 3rd draw of my tool set would open up because im sure theres a breaker bar and socket in there! Its been jammed for 3 years now, really annoying ha ha.

Seriously? Break the damn thing open. And yes, wheel nuts can be done too tight.

I personally don't torque mine, but I have a good idea of how tight they need to be.

Yeah wheel bolts can be put on too tight, which can in extreme cases cause the wheels to actually come off..

(I know of a race car that actually rolled because of wheel bolts too tight)

Its a pain, some kid of tool moved in there one day when closing it and when you try pull the draw open it springs back inwwards

it is very easy to do wheel nuts too tight most people do it, every car i get to take wheels off they are on super tight

check the wheel nut torque specs in a manual itll surprise you when you use a torque wrench and feel how much less tight theyre meant to be

Make sure you get a decent socket... I only use my grandads ancient sockets on my alloys after cracking 2 cheaper sockets

This is what you want.
Wrapped with some Nylon s**t to stop scraping the paint.

And a breaking bar.

Thanks, this is on my list of items to get on payday :)

Car didnt come with a manual or anything it was meant to :( does anyone know the correct torque to use, ive got a torque wrench here already but will need the breakerbar and socket to undo the wheels first.
