anyone watch 5th gear last night?? was a repeat but showed the new shape clio (mk3) taking the rip out of the gay shape clio (mk2) despite behing 4bhp per tonne less! hahaha :rasp:

I always found my 182 to be very good right the way throught the rev range!

Maybe the chip and BMC helped abit but i doubt that much.

No evidence of any fix and every motoring journalist and independent has found the same.... Perhaps the Clio 200 actually makes its quoted power, unlike the 182 - This coupled with the improved handling make it slightly quicker around a track. Simple really

Tell that to the bloke that brought along his Clio 200 to the rolling road day last Saturday. 183bhp lol.

I like this line about the Cup 'it gifted affordable, practical performance to the people and two years of cover stories to Evo magazine'.

Haven't heard about any of the 200's making low figures, obviously it's a comparitive figure on the day but on comparison there have been 3 reports on here about 200's making good power (around quoted output) - It's rare to see the same reported from the previous Clios.

Just going on threads posted here, only as good as the evidence submitted

Perhaps the one on Saturday had very low miles, or all cars got very low results?

I'm genuinely sceptical - wouldn't the tyres would have turned to crap by now (perished or with flat-spots if it's been static)?

No it's true. I read that the Williams was on perished, dangerous tyres, and that the dampers were leaking all over the track. Tiff wasn't best pleased (or so the story goes), so they put fresh rubber and dampers on. Then he went back out and lapped 35 seconds quicker than a remapped Caparo T1 on slicks.
