Top mount question

When renault decided to start offering the revised washer/ nut to fix the knocking, did they change the design of the mount itself?
I'm not sure if I've read somewhere there was a subtle difference or I'm just making it up.

Yes they did.

I've already have new mounts waiting to go on as part of the refresh, was just curious, did renault have to modify the rubber mount to accommodate the new nut/spacer.

As far as I'm aware, they revised the top mounts which caused knocking. They then released the spacer nut to fix it...
