Can someone link me to the right ones? I'm sure I read that the 182ff were different?

And can somebody clarify that these are the correct top mounts for 182ff also? It says fit a 182 but not a 2.0ltr sport! I'm prett sure I saw them linked on here, which is how I came across them, but I can't find the thread now.

To where Steve?

Hi Chris,
My advice is to avoid this superseded kit,as it is designed to be used with a revised space R82 00 867 250,which replaces the original 17mm nut & spacer holding the shock assembly together.
Renault have manufactured these incorrectly with too many threads, with the result that the spacer becomes threadbound on the damper rod before it makes contact with the bearing.
It is possible to use the modified spacer if you have sufficient threads removed, but life would be simpler is you buy some OE spec items.
Febi are a good make & I think this is the best priced listing on eBay,

That the correct part, Its been revised so the mount sits higher then the original so no longer touches the bodywork when cornering, everything in the picture is all you need.
This http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-R...770793?hash=item41a8da9229:g:~4gAAOSw2GlXEMRN is used with the original factory fitted mounts to prevent the rubber touching the bodywork when cornering.
If you use this spacer with the revised mounts you will not have enough thread on the shock to fully fit the top nut.

OK thanks for that.

Will probably look into febi or trw ones. I'm sure there up to the job. I changed the ball joints this morning non genuine ones so that's one box ticked.

Yes I contributed to that thread a long time ago.
The shame is Renault Wolverhamton are still attempting to knock out their old stock of faulty units.
You would need to put washers on top of the original 17mm nut to get any clearance with this kit.
The original top cap/rubber with intergral nut cleared the 17mm nut till it bottomed out (did up solid) on top of the 17mm nut.
I had misgivings at the time of purchase, having read that thread, but was assured by the comment"well we have sold a lot of them,so it will be fine"
I was also assured/told modified top mount & nut/spacer must to be fitted as a pair.

Is it too late to sue RW for the Spax Front suspension units I had to replace at great personal cost on the basis of incorrect advice?
Rant Over.

they should be fine but i can confirm the kyb/kayaba top mounts work fine as that's what i use. not sure if renault use kyb for their top mounts but they do for the dampers.

So you sold the spax because you thought they were faulty as the top mounts didn't fit?

No,they were unsaleable as the slop in the top mount caused by the threadbound nut ripped the threaded insert/damping adjuster out of the damper rod on road test round the one way system, and it wasn`t worth getting them rebuilt.

Not true,as unless modified by removing threads,it will always become threadbound before securing the bearing, regardless of which top cap/rubber is used.

In addition, even after modification,I found that the tyre would make contact with the chassis before hitting the bump stop, and required a spacer between the bearing and the top spring cover to eliminate that problem.

I would love to see service bulletin relating to this item.

I am talking about using the original spacer a half nut with this kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281925246953
Not this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-R...N&clk_rvr_id=1103623309966&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true
This way they sit higher than the
The Febi /trw or kyb to the original configuration.

Just had a look i got this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281925246953 with the original spacer but replaced the half nut with a normal sized nut the same as this guy http://www.cliosport.net/threads/172-new-top-mount-modified-spacer-issues.641094/

Ah,the old full nut trick.

I knew I had to put washers on top of the 17mm nut to get a decent clearance before I got round to getting the new 27mm nuts modified.

I`m afraid that`s not what your previous post stated.

"I am talking about using the original spacer a half nut with this kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281925246953"

You may have missed this regarding the 27mm nut/spacer.

"Unless modified by removing threads,it will always become threadbound before securing the bearing, regardless of which top cap/rubber is used."

Either way none of it is fit for purpose.

Andy`s 4 year old thread pointed you in the correct direction, but Manufacturers modifications should work out the box,and these items should have been recalled.

Yep forgot i fitted the full nut it was 5 years ago the manufacturers modifications are even worse than the originals like you said.

So I hate to revive an old thread but it seems there have been many, many, many conflicting fixes.

My issue

Genuine Renault strut top kit fitted last year, awful handling with original bush.

Thought I would rectify with modified spacer nut/bush with the above strut top kit. Worse than before. Slop on the top rubber mount but thought to myself well it may be a "loss motion" type fit.

Now I have ordered Febi 37597 strut top mount repair kit. But only have the modified nut/bush 8200867250.

Do I fit and forget or should I remove some thread from the bottom of the modified spacer nut to allow it to secure the bearing to the top side of the spring platform?

I am at my wit's end truly 😭

Clio 182 FF with standard cup dampers (new) and cooksport springs.
