Topaz Blue M3

Finally got to the bottom of my slightly vague steering, the FCAB were clearly no good as @Budgie replaced them Saturday and it's driving 10x better now.

The job itself was quick, easy and stress free, the old mounts just popped off and the new lollipop bushes just glided on, barely any persuasion needed. I think he's even tempted to join M3cutters now and start offering the FCAB swap to members on there.

The hammer is present purely for decorative purposes, obviously.

Mike also changed the rear diff bolts - all I can say if you haven't done it already then it's a massive improvement for £7 or whatever the bolts cost. Much less clunky now.

Thank you to Nick as well for supplying the food!

Finally ordering parts to tighten up my gear change. 330D gearstick, new plastic bushes and a new knob.

The question is, should I get the illuminated version and keep it as oem? It's about £110 versus £56 non-illuminated. I think it's probably a waste but can't decide!

For me I'd go illuminated, when I swapped to Clubsport in my E46 I missed it lighting up, I think it's a cool feature. Went for the F10 M5 one in my E90, they look and feel so much better.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. Happy to pay more if it's worthwhile. Will change the bush and lever first then treat it to a new F10 M5 knob at the end of the month.

Well I've rather unexpectedly bought a BBK for this. The previous owner sent me a message yesterday morning and a few minutes later I'd bought a BMWP kit for the fronts.

Calipers, brand new alu fitting kit, discs and braided lines for the same as new oem pads/discs. No brainier really!

Won't be collecting from him for a few weeks but looking forward to getting it fitted!

Few stock photos because they look bloody great IMO!

He's also trying to twist my arm to buy his set of freshly Lepsons refurbished genuine CSL alloys which I must admit I am very tempted by!

Well, it's still going. I might as well keep this thread updated.

A quick once over with a sponge. All I can say after a few days of ownership is wow, what a car. It's so good even at slow speeds, I could ferry my Nan to the shops and she'd be happy. Drop her off, and I could get home in a third of the time.

The car now has a Eonon GM5150 head unit fitted, so Bluetooth, sat nav etc (pic from my old 330d):

Plans: needs a set of rear pads pretty quickly, so that will be done within the next few weeks.

I don't have any issues with the braking(I hear lots of reports of them fading online) but what I do have is a set of AP 4 pots sitting under my bed, so if I get a few hours, I might mock up some brackets and see about bolting them on.

Other than that, full enjoyment. Massive thanks to Jack, what a car it is.
