Torque angle gauge!

Hi all, just a quick question I'm replacing the head gasket and when tightening the new bolts it says to angle then 97 degrees + 2 degrees so how much overall do they mean?

It'll mean 97 degree, and it will be +/- 2 degree to allow for a bit of innacuracy / tolernace.

Is it for a 172?

Ok cheers, nah only for my 1.4 lol can't afford the insurance on a 172 just yet

Also anyone got any ideas on how to hold that head gasket down because when I try and put the head on it keeps slipping and it's a pain in the ass because I'm on my own so don't have a set of spares hands lol

There should be locating dowels in the block. if not Drop 2 head bolts down on opposite corners of the head.

Make sure the gasket is on the right way too!

The locating dowels may still be in the head take them out and put them back in the bloack if so. Then place the gasket over shoudl be fine then.
