Total Noob Dump Valve Fitting

Total noob here,

I've recently got a Forge 007 DV and I've had instructions with it but they give me no confidence on how to complete the task; I am a total novice at vehicles and the only thing I can change is a filter! I want to learn, which is why I'd gladly do it if I had a set of clear instructions to do so; more or less, I simply don't understand the instructions given to me, can anyone provide a clearer walkthrough of it?

Simple as that guys? Not going to blow the car up or anything ;)? The instructions are clearly for an older model of TCE as the boost pipe they mention isn't even the same. I can't post it as they put it on paper and I don't have a scanner either. So simple as that? Take off the alloy clamps, remove the DV, slap the new one in and put the clamps back on?

It's probably a sign that you shouldn't fit it. Seriously a 1.1 with a dump valve?

Boom. I'll get back to you guys in 30. Going to get ready. If the engine blows up I know who to blame haha, no seriously though; didn't think it was that easy.

Do you have to declare a DV to insurers or just be safe anyway? Don't want to ring unless I need to; lots of crappy talking and number redirects.

Progbably not, the car has one anyway and it doesn't increase anything power wise, just makes more noise and reduces lag ever so slightly. maybe call them to declare but I'd be amazed if they charged for it.

I can now confirm, I pssssssshttt. Thanks for the confidence boost gents and ladies. Hell of a job getting the old one off! Those Clamps were rusted good and I was trying to unscrew from really awkward angles!

I was more getting at the fact that the aesthetics mean it's visual look, not how it sounds. So therefore when you said it was purely aesthetic, it meant it was to look at, hence I posted a sarky comment to undermine your grammar.

if it is the vac hose then i bet your turbo loves that.

The redirect pipe that the old diverter was attached to and no, it's not wrong. I haven't blown the engine. Much more pull when the turbo spools up (I can hear the wine when the radio is off). But low revs has taken a hit from it; but not much; its hardly noticeable.

You want to plug that back in, as when it's on vacuum, it'll be sucking in unfiltered air.

Its the old diverter valve pipe so instead of redirecting the air in to the engine its now dumping it all hence the reason why I plugged the pipe that the diverter valve was attached to. I can post a picture tomorrow to clear this up if everyone wants me to?
 
I know how they work. It would have been diverting it to the low pressure side of the turbo. Now with that pipe off it'll be allowing unfiltered air into the turbo and post turbo.

or you could put it in right and not have the low revs taking a hit.

The pipe you are on about is the pipe with the dump valve attached to. The intake pipe where the diverter valve was previously connected to is plugged in. How does that allow unfiltered air get in to the engine?

Hmm who to believe here, Danlp a well known specialist or Kazumz who 1 second didnt know how to fit a dump valve and is now an expert.........

For the love of god take a picture of what you've done and post it up. I really can't be bothered with "I managed to suck two small rocks into my turbo through some random thing I fitted however I fancied and now by car's broke, any advice?".

Take a picture, post it up, let Dan help you if it's wrong, pass go, and collect $100
