TPI polarised bolts... caring for and getting them on

Got these delivered today, looking very nice! I've read about them rusting, and am wondering what product could be used to add a layer of protection? And what people do with regular cleaning to stop it from occurring too bad.

Believe it or not, I've never actually changed a wheel. My tools are somewhat lacking! Looking for exactly what I need, I presume a torque wrench is in order. Recommendations please, don't want to spend too much! Thanks.

I have had mine for a while and mine have started to rust and the lockers feel like they are chewing when putting them on or off.

Im thinking of going back to just standard wheel bolts with no lockers.

In answer to the torque wrench, get a half decent one not like the screwfix one I got that is difficult to set accurately

I bought a Screwfix one the other day - I think it was under £25 and I think its great for the money.

Being BS marked, it has to meet a certain level of accuracy (good enough for me) and it saves me buying the wheel brace I needed, too!

What's difficult about setting it? I thought it was easy enough?

I probably would have stuck with what I've got but after buying after market wheels my insurance company has told me I've got to have locking bolts on there! Thought I might as well get some pretty ones lol.

Would something like this be alright?

As far as protection goes, i doubt theres much that will stop them rusting if the car is being used alot other than washing and drying them any time they get wet.

Coat of lacquer?

Yeah that's the one I got from screwfix, I find the 0 on the handle doesn't line up with the marks on the increments. To be fair for £20 I'm probably expecting a bit much. Still better than total guessing
