With our first trackday of the year booked for august it was time to bring the car home from storage for some work and a good clean. The car had been stored (outside on a farm) since September last year so as you can imagine it was pretty filthy. The plan was to get it done over a few days and bring some colour back into the faded red paint as I did when we first purchased the car.
Some shots of how it was once we got it home
Wash stages were as followed -
Foamed with Valet Pro Foam
Really dirty areas, around windows/badges etc taken acre of with CP Rapid Dirt Shifter
2BM with AF Imperial
Tardis and Iron-x used to removed most of the tar etc before claying.
Next the car was taped up and ready for polishing. Wasn't really seeking any kind of correction as the car is only to be used on track, main point was to bring it back red again and add some gloss. Therefor I didn't want to go using all my good polish on it and opted for Meguiars Ultimate Compound/Polish combo.
Some intricate taping up required on the bonnet pins.
Some pictures from the polishing stages that hopefully show the difference made.
Once the polishing stages were done it was back up the drive to be foamed/rinsed/dried again and the following
Plastics dressed with AF Revive
Windows/lights cleaned and treated with Gtecniq G5
Exhaust cleaned up with Autosol
Engine bay cleaned and dressed
Waxed with DJ Purple Haze
Finished shots
That's all comments and criticisms welcome
