Tracking/toe etc

Had my car tracked up at kwik-sh1t after putting some Koni shocks on a while back. It was on standard springs at the time, but due to the camber on the shocks, it was AWFUL and toeing right in. They seemed to sort it out.

I then put some 40mm springs on. I was going to give it a week to settle, then get it done again....... but forgot.

Now, my tyres are ruined on the inside and outside shoulders. I think the inside from the toe/camber, and the outside from basically, hooning it around and cornering like an idiot. However, it could have been set wrong previously. Who knows.

Now, I am getting some new tyres on the front this weekend, so want to get it done again. Are there any relatively commercial outsets close to Manchester that I can go to and trust them? Maybe take the settings with me?

Or is it going to be some mega 4 wheel alignment, £400 job?

As my camber is way off what it should be originally, anyone know what I should set the toe to??

HALP??

LOL

Just spoke to Nigel lang. They want £40 but use the hunter stuff. As it's fixed beam on the rear, they only adjust the tracking at the front.

Dave Sheldons only want £25, but said it's and easy job and will only take 30mins or so. I think I want to leave my camber as it is (fixed on the shocks with no camber adjusting bolts).

Now to choose who to use.

Arrrghghhhh

I've always use sheldons and they are fantastic tbh. I used them to set up my camber too and they did a good job. However I want it done a hunter's system when I get everything polybushed just because the accuracy of the hunter's system is second to none.
With only being able to adjust the toe on the front go sheldons. f**k paying £40 for a 10minute job that you can get done else where for £25.

True.

Will visit them on saturday and have it sorted.

Still not sure if the shoulder scrubbage is set up, or my hero driving style though. Hmmm

If I was you I'd get some camber correcting bolts and sort out the uneven wear from lowering the car. You'll get much more life out of the tyres. They're only £15! They get them set up by Nigel Langs or something if you don't know how much camber you want.

I've heard even a few degrees camber is fine for wear, as long as the toe is set correctly. Pretty sure mine is set a little toe out, for better turn in, which obviously chomps the tyres

Anyone know the best setting for the toe?

so I ask for them to set it to 10 toe out Fred?

Will this wear the inside or outside edges?
