TRACTION CONTROL

Car  R26

what is the crack with the traction control - if it is switched off and you accelerate 0 - 60 without wheelspin will it be faster than doing this with Traction conrol turned on. Also, having it turned on does it sap any power from the car in general ?

ETC should only come into play when it detects wheel spin, when it does it will reduce engine power.

Thats as i understand it anyway.

This was discussed last week. Some point found that without the TC off, the car felt faster. Im inclined to agree, as the system doesnt hold the car back under acceleration and gives you full power all the time.

With it on its seems to restrain it a bit, although the lights not flickering im sure it is slowing you down.

oh, and it would be quicker round a track with it off as the ESP is not trying to minutely adjust the car in each corner. You might not feel it but i bet its slowing the car down when you start pushing the car to its limits
