Transfering photos from iphone to pc?

How do all you lot with iphones manage to transfer the pics you've taken on your iphone onto your pc/mac? Can't seem to find a way through itunes to access the files on the iphone and bluetooth doesn't allow you to tranfer actual files to other bluetooth enabled devices. :S

Can you open up the iphone as a storage device? ie. not through itunes.

can view them in iphoto...

Appears as a device in My Computer. Go into it, find your photos and drag them out, only works one way though so you cant copy stuff to the phone, only off it.
