Transporting a Clio

Need to get an undrivable Clio from Glasgow to Devon. I am considering doing it myself by getting a trailer etc.

Any other, as cheap as possible ways?

  Ph1 172 + Combo van
A transport company maybe, is will not even be that expensive as all that is needed is a transit sized lorry with a flatbed and a winch.

My dad bought a burger van which was 14 foot by 6 foot and it was £100 to pick it up from leeds and bring it back to london

easy, join the AA with roadside relay which is £72. register the address in devon then they tow you anywhere in the country espically home. I have used them to when I have bought cars from up north, just said the imobliser has failed and its on a bunch of realy trucks home. As long as its not acident damage then ur laughing.

AS ABOVE!!^^^....Join the AA, they have a service where if you are broken down (Tell them you are) they can drive it to your destination of choice.... membership can be less that £100 for the year, and you wont have petrol costs! Will be even less if the car is more than 1/4 miles from your home address!

lol, dont let them open the bonnet?

"Its just the super dooper alarm, it wont even let me flip the bonnet switch, very secure but I just need it home so I can plug it in myself"

LOL thanks for all the suggestions. Its actually another car based in Glasgow that I want the engine from. Its an insurance write of but the engine is sound and has only done 7000miles. Problem is, is that I live in the South West and would have to drive up there with a trailer, pick the car up, take it to Devon, then come back to Bristol. Worked out it would cost me £352.

Tow bar + fitting
Trailer for 3 days (I need to transport my car as well)
Number plate
Straps

I still have to pay for the bloody thing and petrol!!
