Travelling abroad with coilovers ?

  TTRS & V50
Am meant to be driving over to france next month, but my CS is on coilovers, has anybody travelled on the ferry with coilovers. Cause afaik you have to drive up a steep ramp to board the ferry, and ive got the feeling my bumper will rip off or my underbody will get ripped to bits..

Any one experienced it, i assume quite a few of you will have due to driving the ring..

With all the guys on VW clubs making it across fine for edition38 and shows further afield yours will be fine!
In the grander scheme of things its not that low

I took my 182 which was pretty low on Gaz coilovers and 15" wheels on the ferry from Poole to Caen no problem - only had a slight scuff of the splitter on the way up, but no damage. It was pretty low too.

Ph-reebone on here (Proper low 172) came to france with us on the ferry and it got on piece of piss.

Went to france with a group of sports cars, some of which were eye watering low. Mention it when you check in, mention it when you get in the car park queue to the people lining you up and loading you

They will put you on the lower deck, which means you don't go up the steep ramp at all. If the sea is rough then you may have to time your acceleration with the rocking of the boat, but I think you will be fine.

This is experience going from Dover to Calais and Dover to Dunkirk.

HTH :)

Mates went over to Holland for a show earlier in the year. My friend has a SILLY low VR6 which has a very low hanging sump and he managed it. He just wound his coils up a bit. I think you'll find the Clio will be ok at the height you have it.

That's only because we both jumped up and down in our seats at the right moment and it 'hopped' over the ramp...

The ferry dude looked at Neil like he was a mental when he was crawling over the non-existent bump, head out the window: "am oiiii awlllright?".
