Trophy box / engine Q

  172 cup TT
Quick question - would a trophy engine and box swap straight into a 172 cup?... im not doing it out of thinking it will give a performance increase but out of necessity.... More specifically the trophy gearbox, does this have the speedo hole that the cup does?

thanks

  Leon Cupra 300
The speedo on the trophy runs off the abs sensors. I'm not sure if it could be adapted or not though.

Trophy doesn't have the hole in the gearbox for the speedo output you can use your Cup box though or a phase 1 172 box if you want instead.

Whats the difference between the std 172 engine and box and a trophy engine and box ?

Is it honestly worth changing it ?

Or maybe i'm wrong, and take my comment back :-/

Trophy has the 182 engine which is slightly different different castings and intake manifold etc. nothing important realy.

Both boxes are the same externally the 182/trophy has some chnaged bits but again nothing important

Has the 182/trophy got a different ecu as well and something else to get it to 182 bhp ?

The gearbox does the differences make it a heap quicker than a 172

  cock mobile.
Gear box is the same, the engine is essentially the same, it's only the manifold that's different really.

Gearbox is longer so on same HP its slower to accelerate (abeitly only slightly) Its the exhat Hp the 182 has makes up for it.

182 has different ECU no difference though its the 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and cat+ exhayst with the different ECU maps made the power nothig else.
