Trophy detail

  172 Cup
I done this car for a friend a few months back now and after joining up i thought id share some clean trophy pics with you lol.

Down to business anyway, after the car was fully clayed which took off alot of contamination we had an inspection of the paint. There was quite abit swirling and one or two bits of RDS which alot of were able to be corrected however for a more 'true' correction i would want to go back over some of these areas with a rotary.

The process (briefly):

- Rinsed
- Washed
- Rinsed
- Dried
- Fully clayed
- washed/rinsed
- Dried
- Taped up
- Fully machine polished with the 3m process
- Zymol HD cleansed
- A full coat of zymol titanium added
- Finally misted over with Zymol field glaze

Unfortunatly we were pushed for time so there are no before or during shots just the afters....:

This is a car that since i got involved in detailing i have always wanted to machine polish and the after results didnt disappoint.

All in all i would have to say these are some of the best results i have seen out of all the cars i have done, in the flesh it looked stunning ;D

Ive probably missed loads of info so if you want to know anything (products used etc etc) feel free to ask.

*PLEASE NOTE ALL OF THE OTHER JOBS SUCH AS GLASS POLISH, DRESSINGS, EXHAUST POLISH ETC ETC WERE DONE BY THE OWNER THE FOLLOWING DAY*

Sorry there isnt more pics of the before/during process :dapprove:

Gay! Could have just put it in Clio Media as it's just photos of a Clio, not a detailing thread ;)

How did the Titanium fair up then chap? Like that one?

Yeah, it's always nice to have a read of the thread and see the transformation :) Are you relatively new to detailing other people's cars, or something you've been at for a while?

  TTRS & V50
The 3x3m's are good product's aren't they. Must have been serious RDS using the green top and green pad though, yellow top is usually sufficient.

  top of the pyramid
Looks good. I found a harsher cutting pad better on the trophy the paint on mine seems quite hard, compared with a few different cars ive done with vauxhal been like water

The titanium looked awesome on the car and is still offering good protection now having been kept on top of and added to with field glaze. Its probably the best wax i have used. My brother has zymol glasur which offers an excellent shine but doesnt last half as long as titanium.

On the detailing side of things ive been into it for well over a year and have done quite a few cars now, its something that i do on the side and i enjoy it :)

Especially on Renault paint, being as soft as it is!

There was quite abit of rds on this trophy and i did start with the yellow compound but found the paint to be actually quite hard so resorted to the green.

Where's the centre caps fella?!

He bought it without centre caps dude, but he's bought a set now so the wheels looks 'complete' now lol

Yes mate i was quite surprised as to how hard the paint on this trophy was, i was expecting it to be very soft.
