Trophy - Rear Dampers

  Renault Clio Trophy
Hi all

I am need to purchase some rear shock absorbers for my Trophy,

I have called my local dealer and they have quoted £136.66 each.

The part number is: 8200519954

Does anyone on here know if i can find these any cheaper? any other advice? should I replace the springs aswell?

The reason I am replacing them is because one rear was flagged up on the MOT and in a seperate independent check as "light misting of oil on rear shock absorber" i can also feel it does not feel as 'balanced'.

Any info would be fab!

I called 2 different Renault dealers today to ask about prices. I was asked for my VIN and I was given 2 different prices and 2 different part numbers.

Where can I find out the correct part number for the original rear shock absorbers for a Trophy?

give you 70 for em lol, any more going that cheap ?

He's a trader mate. He'll order them as and when, I doubt he'll discount you as much as you want

Cup Rear Dampers are: 8200 681 125
Trophy Rear Dampers are: 8200 519 954

For any trophy owners ref numbers:
Trophy Front Damper: 8200 514 733
Trophy Front Damper: 8200 514 734

RenaultNET has the Sachs front damper units - 8200514734 - listed as a pair with Retail at £1,189.01 + VAT (£1,426.81 Inc. VAT). I will send a parts request to Dieppe to ensure its 100% for the pair though but its not normally wrong however I won't hear back until Monday/Tuesday now. Rear Sachs dampers - 8200519954 - are however priced per unit so you'd need to buy two to make a set (Obviously)

The reason why you've been given two different prices is because the Trophy has a type code of "CB22" which is the same as a normal '182 and unless they look at the special features code they won't pickup the fact it has a special requirement hence they quote you up for standard non-Cup dampers

Any issues with part numbers and Trophy dampers, ask to make sure the renault person isn't selecting extreme handling pack suspension. Once reg. number is in their system the Trophy setup will be classed as non-cup, selecting that it has extreme handling pack will give you cup spec items.

Pretty much what MicKPM said :)

If so, great, for once Renault has halved the price of the most valuable item on the Trophy rather than their usual practice of doubling the price!
