Im going to view a Trophy today, are there any Trophy-specific things i should be checking for?
Thanks

Gearbox listen for whines etc, lift boot carpet check floor for damage.
Front dampers should have gap between cylinder & mount on damper, if not £400+ refurb.
Belts done, if not £300-600.
Tyres are £90 each, so do your research over on cliotrophy.

Why are the dampers such a problem?I thought they were ment to be reliable, although i am aware of the costly refurbs and new dampers.

Cool! Have to meet up when you get it.

And for dampers rebuild at 40k that's just fiction.

Yes! Iv been to ashamed to turn up to any clio meets with my 1.2 lol.
Hope so, the last owner was a mechanic known by the guy who sold it and he assures me he had it sorted.

Cool. What have you bought then and when do you get it?

Not that L3TBF or other in for sale is it? Looked nice that. £7,200 odd for 30k's is good imo.

No idea, only speculating at that due to someone saying look in for sale and he said "bought it". Genuinley thought yours was up for that too as I have looked a few times and seen you drop the price. Does look nice mate and it's a big shame it won't sell.

^ No it wasnt.
It was just out of my price range.
It only came up for sale yesturday on autotrader, 41K miles. perfect conition, engine is smooth, drives really solid, no damage. I just had to snap it up :P

Great car though, the Trophy. I wanted one but they didn't do any in dark blue with gold wheels.

Ok mate. We'll have to sort something out. I have added you on msn btw.

LOL

What?

Can you only put certain tyres on the trophy? :S

I'd only have one with locking pins intact, and unmolested

Its already is the best clio so we'll nip that one in the bud straight away ;)

You can fit other tyres if you want but PE2's are standard fit.

Yeah exalto tyres are a must and suit the Clio best. If ya can't afford the tyres ya can't afford the car simples. I wouldn't put any other tyres on my 182. Trophys are the best of the 1*2 range I'd of had 1 but a good mate had 1 at the time god rest his sole so went for the cup instead.

lol!

What? So if you put Toyo's on it they are less of a tyre than a PE2?

:S

Yeah, bit like if you have a 182 Cup, you cant affort a real 182 ;)

I don't rate Toyo's. I've had some on my Williams and thought they were god awful. I then had some P Zero Neros which were decent, but the PE2 are a different class. Suit the car so well and very good in all circumstances. Down side are they wear fairly quick and cost alot.
