Thought i would put all the work and pictures into one Topic and as the car has been off the road for weeks and it has had a lot of issues sorted over the past 2/3 months.
It was firstly sent away to Pro Tek (Bodyshop) to get the roof fixed after the original job was done badly.
Going back 4 years ago i was working in town and when finishing work at around 4am i came out to find that someone had smashed a wine bottle on the roof of the car. The car was then went to get the roof fully repaired but it turned out to be a bad repair.
The finished roof
The car was then sent to SWR in stirling who are Renault Specialists and who have looked after the car since i have owned it.
I had a bad knocking from my suspension so after it turning out to be the AST top mounts i bought new bearings for them.
Turns out the bearings are seized in the top mount and i can't get the new ones to fit until i get the old ones out so i bought new OE reanult top mounts with spacing washer and got them fitted.
As you can see here is the black part of the AST bearing that is seized so i can't get the old bearing out.
Next up was my exhaust that was really annoying me, The car has got the MK1 yozza sport CAT back system and one i bought the car the exhaust was sitting under the rear bumper as pictured.
I then got it sorted a few years ago but then after fitting new mounts it was now sticking out far too much as once again pictured.
So knowing that one of the guys at SWR in stirling can wield with MIG & TIG and is sh*t hot at it i got them to sort my exhaust and stop it sticking out too much.
These are not the best pictures but the tail pipes now sit perfectly flush with the back bumper.
Next up was to get the Brembo calipers fitted.
I got these refurbished and powder coated in Red, Then up was to buy the parts needed which i got really cheap and only paid £16+vat for the front brembo pads and £6+vat for the fitting kit.
Went for 300mm grooved discs and the Pure Motorsport brackets.
When fitting these the Prima Racing wheels would not go over the calipers due to the wheel itself so i went back to the speedliness.
Here is the lip where the brembos can't go over.
Here is the discs and calipers on the car.
And the speedline back on.
There has been a lot of discussion about the pads not meeting the full surface of the discs but as its been said it's because there's more swept area available on the 300mm scenic discs and the 197 pads aren't deep enough basically. Makes them look odd.
It has nothing to do with the caliper being mounted wrong or the brackets etc - that's just how they look on 300mm opposed to the 280's.
I have also done a swap with the Prima Racing alloys for these.
Also waiting on this coming back from @snappy as he is doing a refurb on it for me but he has sent me these two pictures of the work in progress.
