tuning for a 1.2, ideas?

any ideas on whats the best way to tune the car up properly without f**king it up? its only a 1.2.. i want more grunt and pace from it.. thanks

cheers, what about the pipercross vider induction kit? is that any good? claims it can get *upto 10 bhp..or is this bull?

Dont bother with an Induction Kit mate specialy one for that price on a 1.2....just get s decent panel filter and if you want decat it put apart from that tuning a 1.2 is pointless lol, trust me i know

that would be more worth the money lol o save and buy a faster car, just go for looks other than performance mate you wont get anything more out of a 1.2

wel i havent even driven the car yet... lol picking up on tues.. just need some ideas got pile of money waiting to be spent on the car.. i kno i read the modification thread about that gold clio and spending s**t loads... but i just want it a tad faster, the cars already got everything i want so the cash saved up for the ext-mods can now be spent on performance

you wont get any more performance out the car to be honest its a 1.2

Decent panel filter and a better cold air feed to the standard air box is a good start Induction kits arnt relly worth the money £100+ is a waste on a 1.2 imo.....

Just start with the exterior and get some decent ice


my 1.2...old pics the K&N sticker has gone and the Cliosport got replaced with a larger one in center

Then throw your part time earnings at it. Maybe you'll come back in a few years to make a thread of your own just like that "gold clio thread".

It'll still get rinsed by mum's taking their kids to school in a 1.8 Focus, so why bother is my only question?

then expect it to be slower. it makes the car a lot more fun. ive just put my car back to standard. i did have it stripped and it had just a k&n pannel with cold air feed in it. The car feels a lot heavier and its definately slower

If it were me id save, and i am saving, and the way im going ill have a 1.6 by the end of the year. If you dont want to save up for a new car then id get-

Pannel Filter
Decat
Strip Car (its worth the try, to begin with id remove the rear seats or half of them, and remove the spare wheel to get a taste for it)
Springs (if not allready done so)



But like i said. Save up. Its a 1.2 and it allways will be.

What ivew started to do save up for a faster car going for a 172 though :) but i was in the same mind as him when i first got the car ooh slap this and that on n itll be faster lol didnt happen !

yeah same. Ive still got induction kits lying about but now i dont even bash it about like i used to. Just so much more relaxed when driving now lol.

id go for a 172 also but i dont want to be stretched to the teeth trying to pay for it. Only 19 (or will be this november lol) so everything will be high. Also going to uni so even if the insurance was ok id struggle with all the running costs. Whereas a 1.6 seems do-able, and after seeing rob and JB floor it side by side down a dual carrage way im all up for getting the 1,6 :cool:

Anyways. In november ill see what ive got in the bank and have a look about. Its just the 1.6 seems "affordable" so to speak.

Yeah ive got my old K&N in the garage still need to get s good panel filter though ( got ne site ?? ) i still trash mine about every now and then but not as much as when i first got it. Im same as you mate 19this year (september) but i dont plan on getting the 172 for another year or so so ive got plenty of time to save up for the insurance, unlike you aint goin to uni becoming a sparky :)

Do people forget that Renault aren't the only hatch manufacturer ????

If you wanted a faster car, why did you get a 1.2 in the first place?? Look at a Saxo VTS or a Pug 306 GTI perhaps. Much cheaper on insurance and a little quicker than a 1.2.

Ive decided im not going to do anything more to my 1.2, im just going to wait till I can afford a 172. You can get them dirt cheap these days.

yeah the 197 mite do.. the VXR is like a boy version in this class lol the clios too curvy and girly for my taste.. i like abit of vents and whacky spoilers and stuff
 
iv got a 1.2 16v but it doesen't stop me from wanting it to be the best it can be. most people think its not worth it in a small engine but thay may have bigger engines but their not the fastest cars in the world and it dosent stop them from wanting to make them faster.

haha wipped a saxo today after they cut me up!
