Turbo hitting the heatshield

  R35 GTR
There is no space left behind the engine, and the turbo is touching the heatshield. Will the heatshield squash a bit? I only need a few mm for clearance.

Or can it be removed and a modified one fitted?:)

Wedge a couple of gummie bears between the turbo and the heat shield.

On a serious note, why not remove the heat shield and wrap the manifold. It should crush though.

The manifold is already wrapped, but will have a go at the gummi bears tomorrow. They have stopped my exhaust rattle.:)

Remember if you lick their backs, you can stick them together to make them doubly think ;)

Re adjust the manifold tilt the turbo so its got clearance. Any less than about an inch I'd be working on it.

You'll be hard pressed to get clearance.

From the looks of things you'll have to machine the flanges and the actuator bracket possibly to ensure clearance, the turbine housing itself isnt touching, just the actuator bracket.

Its going to be a nightmare job for you bud :(

I could, but its ALOT of labour, which would be a high cost for a relatively small operation.

There is literally zero space to work in that engine bay..........zero.

some uprated engine mounts would probably cure it but there mega money

I was thinking similar, undo the engine mounts, swing on the engine and re-tighten the bolts work?? Bearing in mind I haven't seen any 182 Turbos let alone worked on, so dunno.
