197 clio 16v
After a year travelling the world I came back to the uk very broke and yearning for a 197. After deciding to buy one to replace my beloved death van (mk1 Clio van with 190bhp)
I intended to keep the 197 standard so I could save for more travel 🧳 however the vans engine started knocking so that helped purchase a Megane donor car.
doing the maths it actually works out cheaper to have a meg converted clio (man maths) as long as you have the time and space and can do most of the work yourself. £1500 later I have a 225 donor car in for breaking before even purchasing the 197. A week later and a lot of work and late nights breaking both the van and the megane to fund the 197 and yet another £1500 Later I bring home a rb 197
I’ve always wanted a rb second best colour only to ly in my opinion but I’ve had one of those already but had to be sold to fund travel also m
so you join me at the beginning of the conversion i obviously started by removing the engine from the Megane and removing the loom and ecus from both and immediately sent off to beanie sport and engine dynamics for the work to be carried out then set about engine removal on the 197 that happened last night
