Turning automatic lights on/off?

Is there a way of turning them off/on manually, left my friend in my car whilst i was filling up petrol and somehow hes turned my auto lights off...!? at least i think it was him as i havnt done nethng!

Engine off, ignition on til the lights show on the dash, then twist the light stalk on and off twice, IIRC.

^^ yep thats right.

I had turned my off as was sick of people telling me my lights were on when i stopped at petrol stations during the day.

The other night was driving home from work in the dark, pulled on the light stalk to go from dipped to full beam, my finger caught the little tab on the light dial and turned my lights off. Plunged into darkness on a 60mph bend. Luckily i quickly realised what happened and had my lights back on very quickly.

So, auto lights are now back on!

I agree, first thing i did after picking my car up was read the manual, whilst sat in the car, and had a play with all the controls.

Tell you what else turns your automatic lights off, found it totally by accident, was messing about with the car etc, and i unplugged the cigarette lighter, and we forgot i plug it back in, the lights would still work only if i turned them on but automatically they wouldnt come on,

makes no sense to me, how your cigarette lighter has anything in common with this lights, is everything in some sort of chain perhaps?
