TV/Legal Issue/Recommend

  Punto/Clio GTT
ok bought a tv off ebay in october or so, after a few days the picture was flickersing from a green type film and back to normal, we put this down to one of our scart cables that we knew was dodgy, we intended to replace them when we got sky tv after christmas so we put up with it.

start of this month the tv stopped workin completely, when switched on it made a clickin sound, got my friend whos a tv specialist to look at it and he said the tubes gone and the board is shorting itself out and is not worth repairing it due to costs.

now, ive tried to contact the seller of this tv via ebay 3 times or so. where do i stand legally, can i go through trading standards or ebays thing and try get some money back or am i wasting my time as its been a couple of months? the tv was only 140 pound but the fact we got barely 3 months out of it kinda puts me off just lettin it lye.

also can anyone recommend someonwhere that sells a 32" hdr tv (really thin one) for under £550? cheapest weve saw is in asda for £550

cheers

You have no comeback, unless of course it was new and it under the warranty period at which point it will be return to base i.e the manufacturer.
