TV reception issue

Does having your power cable for the TV in the same piping as the Aerial effect it?? :S

depends if your power cable is made of shielded wire or not AFAIK.

Wrap the power cable in tin foil, should insulate it.

I hate it when you get the ariel in the right place, let go and it goes pants again! Constantly fiddling with the kitchen tv! Need to get an ariel connected to the loft! Got sky in the rest of house though.

tin foild has to have a dc voltage applied to it......simply wrapping wont do the job, well wont do much anyway, 'grounding' cables ie the sheath means to mask with a linear magnetic field associated with dc voltage.

ali one rule with car ICE is always run power cables opposite side of car to speaker cables, same applies to arial's........

phones, wireless modems, tube lights, all affect reception.

try a signal booster.....

Just run some coax from the 2nd output on the sky box to the tv in question and get a magic eye from ebay. Then you'll have Sky tv in your kitchen and as long as you buy good quality coax the picture will be as good as the tv with the box connected to it.

We only do Amplified Indoor Aerial's as far as i know.

The signal boosters don't solve the problem your having by themselves, they only amplify a the weak signal your getting.

Sorted! Was the power lead at fault! Moved the aerial cable and it stopped straight away! Wee Bugger!

I do, iv got a few of the "promo" leaflets on Digtal tv's at home, they have a few handy troubleshooting things on.
