Two problems on a 172.

Hia guys,

Hoping to tap into the collective knowledge!



Problem 1

When I have full right hand lock on, I get a squeaking/scraping noise from the passenger front suspension. Sounds like movement in the suspension mount. Is this a common problem?.

Problem 2

When I have the ignition in position 2, the autochanger produces a deafening static noise. It plays fine when the engine is switched on. I also have a low hum coming from the passenger dash. Ive had a look and there is a unconnected cable with a yellow block connector on the end. I cant see where this goes though!.

Problem 1 is very common, Renault have a "fix" for it.

yup, problem 1 = suspension top mount. Problem 2 sounds like it needs a peep from an auto electrician.

Hmm.... Your 1st problem sounds very similar to my latest issue with my 182. Full lock to the right only yes, but the noise mine makes if held on full lock is a repetitive knocking/clicking which is pretty loud.... Does anyone have a clue what this is or has anyone experienced this on there 182?? Same as problem 1 maybe??
