sods law, jinxed, or just an unlucky ****** call it what you will but I feel like one....

Picked my car up last thurs, as it happens the same day they decide to re surface the 2 mile stretch of road I have to use when I get out of cul de sac.Oh no not the nice tarmac like they use in south wales for example, all the mailto:cr@ppy">cr@ppy little chippings about 4 inch deep.

Decide to travel long way round so I only have to use 1/4mile of it instead of 2 mile.

Go long way round to work, and on way there about 15 mile from where I live another stretch again.

Coming home went another way to avoid this and came across another 2 mile stretch that had just been done an hour ago, again 4 inch deep (nearly)

A prat in a corsa flys past about 20 cars all going slow at about 50MPH sticking fingers up as he does to everyone.

anyway havnt had chance to look yet but I kept it below 10MPH and even this I could hear loads chippings, but is this cos of the plastic under arches?

what you reckon any likely damage?

to top it all had days off to enjoy car and pi$$ed it down every day go back today and its a scorcher.

It always sounds worse than it is when driving over those stones. Had the same stuff happen to me. They resurfaced a major road on my way to work and I drove as slow as I could but it sounded like my car was being beaten to pieces. There was no damage though but I had to wipe a load of tar off the side of the car near the wheel arches.

I have had three new cars in my life and it rained on all three of those days. The last time I got a new car was 12th March 2002 and it was dry when I picked the car up. Joked to the salesman that it would probably snow and he looked at me a bit funny! It sleeted and the snow half pitched that afternoon!!!!!!!!!

You will be alright. Just be glad you didnt get the car on 1st September when the new plates come out. Those people will be driving the car in filthy weather for 9 months before they can enjoy it.
