hey peeps, got my luvly 197 last thursday an lovin it! anyway,i have been using autosmart tyre dandy (aeorosol) on my tyres for years, but now my cars white it ends up all over the bottom. What do u guys recommend? ta :)

How you applying it ? - Most of the splatter from these comes from how much you use and how you apply them.

i use back to black stuff which is made by carplan its 5.00 in halfords and 1.95 in morrisons!! gives the best shine and lasts really well (and cheap) and i have never had any problems with it showing on the paint work..! :)

tyre dandy in a silver and sorta purple can with a purple lid?

can you lot get hold of it ?

i have a box of 24 of the stuff and silicone spray ,the tyyre dandy is very good water repelent but you have to spray a little closer and shake the can well prior, to get an even spray

i miss those wheels! I'll give it a go! ta boys

I kind of use a wee mix.
If the tyres are well dry, i use autoglym bumpercare as a first coat type thing then give it a good buff then add autoglym tyre dressing and finish off with a spray of back to black out the can. Gives it a deep black shine and lasts a while aswell

tyres aren't shiney, why make something shiney when its no supposed to be?

I like stuff to be clean, if its shiney when clean then thats fair enough!

Thats most likely because the product is silicone based, leaving a shinely film/residue on the tyre. Plus lots of products advertise that they will leave stuff shiny!

I don't use these products, i normally go water based and use products that clean, without leaving anything behind.

well we use different products.
I get a nice shine which i like.
You get the clean look which you like.
Its all good.

Yup!

Its all matter of opinion, and i'm not trying to change anyones, just saying its not my thing :)

CM New look trim gel is the best i've used. Use an old sponge cut into quarters, leave 5 mins then use an old MF cloth to remove any excess and leave a factory look, not to shinny but bright and uniform in colour. Never had any sling as you don't have to use much.

The problem I have found is the type of tyre also effects how the stuff works, I never had any splatter problems with Blackfire on the Exaltos on the Clio, tried it on the 106's Avons and it went everywhere!

Meguiars Endurance used to do the same on the 205 GTi's Toyos.
