What tyres do people think I should use on the wheels I just bought for my clio?
They are 5x standard Renault 172 16" 7J alloys, all came with plenty of tread on the tyres but they are a bit of an eclectic mix.
One of them is a 205/45 - a Fortuna F905 (spare).
The rest are 195/45
2x Pirelli Zero Neros
1 x Toyo Proxy
1 x Event F2000
My initial thought is to replace the 205 tyre with another 195 Toyo Proxy and run those on the front and use the 'Event' as a spare. The only downside is as they are directional I would not be able to swap them to even out the wear.
The more expensive option is to replace both the budget tyres, with for example some Eagle F1s, and then I would have the option to run 205/45 on the front. However, I am not sure if there is any advantage going up from 195s to 205's for my lighter/less powerful 1.6 16v?
