Tyre Warranty?

This is probably a daft question but I'm going to ask it anyway...

I bought a car about 2 months ago. When I was going to test drive it they said you will have to wait a couple of days as 2 tyres are bare and we need to change them before we can sell it to anyone.

No problems there, went on and bought the car...

today, 2 months and 3000 miles later one of their new tyres just exploded on the motorway, not a puncture or anything... the car just dropped and it had burst. I looked at it briefly and it was some cheapo brand


should I be getting on to the garage and saying oi?

Wear and tear, unless you can prove the tyre is faulty (which is impossible).

3000miles is unacceptable useage for any road tire though, so although they are a wear and tear item, this is beyond wear and tear.

If you shout loud enough they will replace it, no tyre company want exploding tyres and their name put together.

i got 5000 miles out of a pair of Kumhos. normal (fun) driving.

as alreasy said, i recon if u kick up enough fuss you will get something out of it but firstly they will tell u to get on you bike. keep pushin

I think you should definately raise it with them, at the end of the day <jerry kyle stlye, google it!> they risked putting a cheap brand on the car, and that cheap sh*t failed, risking your life after only 3k.

If they dont go for it, name and shame them.........

Just had a look at the damage, that's the inside wall so I guess it's further unlikley I hit something/something hit it


Couldn't get through to after sales today will crack on tomorrow
