Tyres for 172

Currently I have 2xEagle F1's and 2xP Zero's.

2 are approaching the limit and 2 are heavily worn.

What tyres did the 172 come with originally?

I am looking to change all 4 for continuity and wanted some suggestions for what to use please.

Also, if anyone can recommend somewhere with competitive prices for the referenced tyres that will be great.

Per my details I am on/around Chester area.

you should get some avon zv5 my dad owns his own tyre and exhaust centre and i work for him the customers were bit iffy when we first started selling them but now they love them i have a mate of mine that has them on his scooby running at 480bhp and thinks there brilliant

I have had tyres before that people think are brilliant.

This often constitutes dry weather handaling only.... Which is why I wanted to go for what came on the car as standard when new as Renault would have put a good all round tyre on.

I am tempted by PE2's but they are very expensive.... Had a look on one website which is supposed to be "cheap" and they are £90 per corner.

I run Eagle F1 GSD3s and they are perfect for the road and I was surprised as to how good they were on the track day. If you want an all rounder then I would say go for the F1s

The Goodyear GSD3's are a little cheaper than the Contis but i think they wear quiker don't they?

Michellins are more expensive than others for a reason.

If Avons, Continentals or Pirellis were as good, they'd charge the same. But they're not, so they don't.:)

£92 a corner though for PE2's is a considerable amount of cash.

I don't really cane it so may not notice the 'extra'.

When people say Conti, they do mean Continentals don't they? As I looked on a couple of web-sites and for the Sport Contacts in 16's and 195-45 there were no tyres listed? :S
