Right,im getting my new car around the 25th april. The problem is my 182 needs 2 front tyres. im told they are specific tyres that cost around £100 each, money i dont wanna pay if im part exing! any advice pls guys? thanks

Are they right on the limit? If not you could consider swapping the fronts with the backs depending on the rear tyres tread levels if you're only going to have the car for a few more weeks.

Best price i got for Michelin PE2's in 205*45*16 is from Blackcircles: £92 fitted using RENAULT 5% disc code.

Has the place that you are part ex'ing the car into pointed out the tyres or is it just that you know they need doing?

Get them to fecking do it, if the car ur giving up and there tyres are in good condition, i would make them pay out and get 2 front ones!! Lay down the law man!!

I suppose it comes down to what they are offering part ex.

If its going to cost you £180 say to fit new tyres, are they going to offer you more than £180 on top of the current part-ex price?

If they say they are going to give you £8k with the shot tyres but only £8.1k with new tyres, then clearly its not worth it.

Besides which, I would imagine the garage can source tyres cheaper than you.

I'm very much of the opinion that the quality of tyres shows the level of care you give your car.

I would rather see shot PE2's on the car than new cheap crappy tyres.

First thing i checked when i bought mine was that there was PE2's all round.

Just my opinion tho!

If it's going in just get some any old cra*p, start from £31 on mytryes, if not get some Toyo T1R's are only £65

Its getting traded, if it was being sold private I would stick some decent boots on it.

I stuck some reaonable tyres on mine that matched the rears 2 weeks before mine was traded in, as I couldn't bare to stick some budgets on a nice car.

Maybe just get a pair of part worn tyres for it ??

- I konw that some are against part worn tyres, but that's what you uaully get when you buy a secondhand car.

First thing I do when buying a second hand car is a new set of boots tbh.
