Tyres tyres tyres..........

  2003 Clio 172
Right, when i bought bonk, it had Michelin Pilot Exalto's on the back and Avon ZV5's on the front.

Being the summer, driving it home was splendid with dizzying levels of grip etc.

Now, here comes the winter and i have to say the grip from the Avon's is utterly dire.....would anyone expect that to be the case?

1st gear - unusable
2nd gear - over 4k unusable

All driving spiritedly of course.

So thinking about taking the hit and buying the Michelin Pilot PS3's to replace the Avons........

Are they really ALL THAT?

Cheers

Khumo KU31 (£50 a corner in your size). I have them on both cars (A3 Tdi and 225 TT) and they're awesome in every way.

I was asked by a tyre fitter why I wanted "cheap shite" fitted to my plastic skip car.... he didnt realise that the KU31 is a fantastic tyre that works very very very well on the road and on the track. I had something like 25-30K from a rear set (bearing in mind it was a RWD car) and never felt a lack of grip etc.

I imagine other kumhos are a bit naff though lol.
Alternatively I also had Marshal KH35's on the back and they work just as well as they are the same rubber from the same company just with a different tread pattern :)
