UK or imported 182?

Hi everyone.
Forum virgin here. I would like to know if i can find out if my 182 is a UK or imported car. It is on an 04 plate but i bought it second hand. Not really being too clued up about cars, didnt think to ask at the time. Also what is the difference between the two?

Best to ring renault to be sure, but check for CAT 1 alarm, locking wheel nut, security etching.
Also if you have cup pack its a UK car iirc

Ring renault uk with the chasis number and they will tell you. dont know there number off hand.

^^ Theres a decent chance then as most of the imports dont have it.

One other thing. About the cup spoiler, i have a front splitter on the front of my 182 which i am led to believe by reading posts on here that this is on the cup spoiler pack, however the rear spoiler is no different to the one on my mums 1.2 16v. Is this usual?

The rear spoiler should be bigger than the standard one.

Yes, the rear spolier should be different from the 1.2 as well.

It may affect insurance if imported IIRC

No not all 182 come with the splitter its part of the spoiler pack with the rear. Either someone has add the spiltter or pinch the cup spoiler and replaced it with a dyanmique. most insurance companys arent bother about an import as long as it UK spec.

My 182 has both packs and it's not a 'UK' car

mines inported and didnt come with the splitter so i bought one of a bloke from here and fixed it on should of got a cup pack but there really isnt much difference unless u going to use ur clio in the track

without ringing Renault you should be able to tell pretty easily.

IS there a red led for the alarm to the left of the gearstick? if no then its an import

is there window etching, and ISR stickers on the front 2 windows? if not then its prob an import

have you got locking renault wheel nuts and a renault box with the original non locking nuts in? if not then its prob an import.

have you got a seperate renaultsport manual to go with the standard clio manaul? if not you should have.

Seriously though I can only assume that if it has cup packs then it is most likely to be a UK dealer supplied car. When I was hunting them one out my dealer told me, of the ones that were left most were being ordered with the additional kit. Can't see a broker being clued up about additional options unless he just happened on one?

indeed i am went to get work done on it and reno uk didnt have the chassis number on there database its only metal anyway

all you need to do is look at eng number on the log book and if its a import it will say "not known", much the same for all makes of car....

IIRC motorpoint did have a few a while back that had both cup packs, and they`re imports.

As for insurance, most places aren`t bothered as long as its an EU import and you tell them, mine doesn`t have an alarm, they only seem to be bothered about the immobiliser.
