Under bonnet material

Hi all.

not sure what is called, but is that material needed?

mine is sagging ATM and I want to paint my engine cover but it will rub.

can I just take it off and bin it.

you can do, I have and many others do

yeah just take it off, mine was all tatty, some of the plastic rivets wouldn't come out for me so i tore it around them and popped them in al the way. Careful though - i don't know what it's made off but mine gave off a lot of dust and fibres so try not to breathe that in!

It's just there for sound deadening and heat protection. Probably buy the stuff...

You can buy a new one from Renault as I did but there's a 10 day wait.
Price is just under £100 so your prob best off buying some nimbus alloy heat stuff from demon tweeks.
