Uneven tyre wear

  Clio 182
Just checked today and my passenger side tyre has just over 2mm tread but the driver side has more like 3.5, is this uneven wear usual? theyre both pirelli p zeros

Should i switch the tyres round? ive heard some people say this is a bad idea but dont really know why

also the back tyres both have around 4-5mm on them, id quite like to change all 4 when it comes to it so i can get pe2s all round, so should i switch front and back tyres?

The backs are a pe2 on the driver and some unbranded s**te on the passenger side, could this be the cause of the uneven wear? I used a proper tyre gauge for the tread depths and ideally would like to get the longest life out of the tyres on now to give me some time to save up!

Would really appreciate any advice, cheers

don't put mixed brands in the front, in the back it works for a while

Dont switch them front >rear.

The front tyre wear (if even across the tread) is most probably the result of some spirited driving tbh.

That wear will be taking roundabouts too enthusiastically. I'd replace the fronts then do rears when they've worn down.

Are the Pirellis directional? If they are, you won't be able to swap left with right as they will be pointing the wrong way around.

some good points there cheers. The roundabout thing makes sense, I should start going the otherway round to even out the wear lol. Yeah think the pirellis are directional as well, will just have to leave them as they are

if you take the pirellis to a tire place they can swap them round on the rims so that the insides are facing out. that way the tread direction will be correct. may not be worth paying to do though
