Unidentified flying car

I was on a road going out of Gloucester yesterday, when a black B-reg Japanese coupe glued itself to my arse with a dump valve hissing away. At the first safe opportunity, I floored it and very slowly edged ahead of him.

When we got to a dual carriageway, he stuck to my rear again and then overtook. I decided to give chase and was right on him, although we seemed fairly well matched. But I noticed that he was chucking up tons of salt chips, so braked hard and pulled back. He must have thought that he suddenly took off and roasted me, but Im not bothered because Id rather damage my pride than my paintwork!!!

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas of what this was? It was definitely a turbo and I think it might have been a Toyota. I think B-reg was about 1983-4 and guess that the car would pull about a 7.5 sec 0-60 (as my car should) since it was only slightly behind.

sure that noise u heard wasnt ya spark plugs falling out? ;)
Ha ha very funny Ben! :( Im still pissed off at that time it spat out a spark plug and have a feeling it may be the reason for my only minor power advantage over other 16vs on the day. Im going to need a new head as the repair means that the plug just rotates in the head now and wont come out! Ill need a new head at the very least within the next year.:(

i had a go in a old square shape colt turbo, when i was looking for a car.. body work was sh*tty though (but still had a drive) 1.6 turbo - like the starions. (oh engine was immaculate!!) plus it was tuned. f**k ME DID IT GO!!!! IT WOULD AVE LEFT A VALVER FOR DEAD!!!

all i can think is 200sx, though these aint really boxy, more sleek than boxy.

Early shape RX7, these were superb cars, and very quick, once moving.

Silvia, and these can really go with little work.

Any of these, early RX7 confuses people cos it looks nothing like current model, looks quite plain really

Sammy - I live in Wales, but was on my way home through Gloucester after the weekend. If it helps, it was the A40 going West out of the town.

I dont know what the exact reg was, but I remember it being a "B" reg. It looks like the Toyota Supra RobFenn posted earlier. It was black and definitely two door.

Like I said earlier, he must have thought that hed roasted me becuase I pulled back from the stone chips.
